Do you wish there was such as thing as family fun adventures that everyone could engage in? If you have more than a couple kids, they probably span several years apart each, making a range of five or ten years that you have to cater to. Your older kids probably want to do something like play at an arcade, or go to a sports event, or maybe a skate park. These are all things that your teenagers or tween-agers might enjoy, but not well-suited for smaller children. Maybe your younger kids would love watching a family-friendly movie with snacks, or riding on the kiddy rides at an adventure park. These are the kind of things that a teenager would rather die than participate in. And mom and dad deserve to enjoy their time as well; how do you find a family outing that appeals to everyone?
If you’re asking this question, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve put together a list of family fun activities that everyone can enjoy:
Five Family Outings That Everyone Will Enjoy
- Laser Rooms
If you’ve never heard of a laser room, you’re missing out. A laser room really has something for everyone: Your teenagers will love a trip through the laser room because it’s like being in an actual video game. Your younger kids will love having a place they can run and play uninhibited with restrictions, and they’ll love the lights and sound effects that laser rooms offer. And mom and dad love that kids and teenager alike take good, long naps after a trip to a laser room. We call this a win, win, win, win situation. - Escape Rooms
By now, unless you live under a rock, you’re familiar with escape rooms. You and your family are locked in a room and must use the clues that are scattered throughout the room to sort out the puzzle and escape from the room. Escape rooms have been all the rage for the last 18 months or so. If you haven’t taken your family to an escape room yet, you really should. In the escape room, your whole family must work together to solve the clues. The unity and team work required in an escape room really creates long-term memories for everyone involved. - Rock Climbing
There is a high likelihood that your children are not getting the exercise they need to be healthy. A child needs at least half an hour of physical excursion each day in order to grow and develop, but more than half of kids just don’t get it. This problem is exacerbated by the availability of iPads and tablets and televisions that provide all the entertainment they need around the clock.
If you worry that your kids aren’t getting enough exercise, rock climbing is an outing that they’ll all engage in, and that they’ll all enjoy. The personal challenge of climbing the wall, and the physical benefits of it can’t be beat. And even better; rock climbing can easily be scaled to any age demographic. It’s appropriate for small kids and older kids alike. - The Great Outdoors
No matter how old your kids are, the great outdoors is good for them. It is amazing how Mother Nature really caters to all of our needs, including our entertainment. There are a variety of activities that the great outdoors offers us, which appeal to a variety of ages: take the whole family on a camping trip. Let your older children enjoy zip-lining. Your younger kids might enjoy a tree house. Heck, your older kids would enjoy a tree house also. Everyone enjoys sitting around the campfire after a long day of outdoor exercise and enjoying each other’s company. It’s the kind of bonding experience that you just can’t manufacture with a screen. - Theme Parks
But let’s say you want to participate in manufactured fun. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel; humans have spent centuries developing places that do nothing but entertain people of all ages. This is where theme parks come from. Take your family to one of the nearby theme parks in your area and you’ll quickly see the inner-child come out of the older kids, and the inner-child come out of the kid-size kids.
